Sens-CO
ANR Project "SENS-CO: Gas SENSors based on functionalized transition metal dichalcogenide sheets for the detection of NOx and CO"
- Partners: IMSE-UGE, LPICM-Ecole Polytechnique, MSME-UGE, EMSE,
- Project duration: 4 years (2024-2028)
- Budget: €480,000
- Role: Coordinator
- Funding: French National Research Agency (ANR)
Objective: The objective of the SENS-CO project is to develop a new generation of miniature, easy-to-use gas sensors based on transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), such as MoS2 and MXenes, to detect atmospheric pollutants (NOx and CO2, for example) in various environments. SENS-CO covers all aspects from fabrication to the integration of sensors into communicating systems and the study of their performance in real-life conditions. The first objective of this project is the fabrication of resistive gas sensors based on functionalized 2D materials. The second objective is to improve the sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and response time of these devices. The third objective concerns the integration of these devices into communicating systems and the evaluation of their performance under real conditions within the framework of "Sense-City". If successful, this project will open up new possibilities for detecting various pollutants and toxic industrial chemical compounds.
