Wise Cities
The Wise-Cities project (2017 Tremplin project of I-SITE FUTURE) focuses on water-energy-soil interactions in urban environments. It involves the ESIEE-LIED, ENPC-LEESU, GERS-LEE, AME-LVMT, and COSYS-IMSE laboratories. The synergies are reflected in various actions, characterized by strong interdisciplinarity and linked to the Water/Energy/Soil Nexus.
Hugo Doux's internship was carried out in connection with the ADEME "Muse" project focused on soil quality and the European H2020 "Urbinat" project on the development of "healthy corridors" in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The results therefore have an impact beyond the WiseCities project and also contributed to the construction of the PhD project submitted for funding to the European ClearDoc program.
The following can also be considered as outcomes of the Wise Cities project:
- The BAFA Project (Autonomous Building, France/Algeria cross-perspective) funded by the PHC Tassili 2021 program in partnership with LEESU-ENPC/Institute of Planning and Urbanism (IAU) of the University of Blida. This is a first collaboration between Mediterranean countries.
- The completion of a PhD within the project on OASIS schoolyards (City of Paris, Météo France, CAUE 75, Ligue pour l’enseignement, Interdisciplinary Laboratory for the Evaluation of Public Policies of Sciences Po). Multi-scale and multidimensional experimental approach (thermal properties of materials, microclimatic analysis of pedestrian heat stress, support for design and decision-making, and training).
- The coordination of Workshop 3 (Water Management) of the E3S partnership project between I-Site Future and EIFFAGE. Implementation of demonstrators on cool island effects and water and nutrient management. This project led to a PhD on the study of the thermal behavior of road surfaces.
- Requests from several consortium researchers by the Société Forestière (a subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations) to participate in the development of a low-carbon methodology for urban trees and their co-benefits; or by the EMS cluster for a study on the "Chemin des carrières" ZAC located in Orly and participation in various thematic days.
